MOM……SWEET MOM!

“Pinkoo! Get up! Its already 5.30am!you have to rush to the class.”
Every morning, her voice bangs on to my ears disrupting my dream of broom ride with Harry Potter. Mind you she is not that kind of mom who will say-“Doodh pee lo beta please mere liye!” She gives a direct treat-“Pinkoo, you either finish off that glass of milk or else I wont let you read any Harry Potter books.” Then, though reluctantly, I finish off the milk.(if it is for the Harry Potter books, I can drink an entire barrel of milk.)
I give a flaring look to my mom and rush to the class thinking, who is my mom, a moon maiden or a ……
But my mom isn’t that bad. I know, she does all that because she cares for me. And no matter how much angry she is with me, she does not forget to kiss me good bye as if I were a six year old going to the school for the first time.
My mom too is just like any other mother. I mean I sneeze, she gets me popped into he bed with hot tea. She makes it sure I don’t get away without wearing a thick sweater when it is cold or a cap in the sun.
And yet theres one thing about her that tells me she is so special. Every day when I
come back home, she asks me how was the day and how things went. If I feel miserable (as I do after every test) she tells me a joke and gets me to laugh and then smoothes away my worries.
And then looking at her serene face, I again ask myself , is she my friend or my angel??
Well…..this time I am left with only one answer –she is just my mom!!
